Updates to Public and Private community analytics for Viva Engage

We’re kicking off the new year with some enhancements to how we report on data from public and private Viva Engage communities. These changes mean you will have a more accurate reflection of activity across your Viva Engage network, while sensitive information remains protected.

Key changes:

  • Unified reporting: All reports from SWOOP Analytics for Viva Engage now include data from both public and private communities by default, ensuring a more accurate reflection of activity across your network.

  • Enhanced privacy controls: Content from private communities will only be visible to members or verified Viva Engage administrators with Private Content Mode enabled. This ensures that sensitive information remains protected.

  • Consistent data presentation: Previously, some SWOOP Analytics reports excluded data from private communities, leading to inconsistencies. Now, all dashboards and reports will consistently include this data, providing a clearer and more reliable overview.

SWOOP Analytics dashboard and report enhancements:

  • “Enterprise” dashboard: Includes analytics from private communities by default, with options to filter as needed.

  • “Communities” dashboard: Adheres to Viva Engage permissions, showing analytics for selected private communities.

  • “Topics” and “Threads” dashboards: Allows searching for posts in private communities, with content visibility restricted to authorised users.

  • “Most Engaging Posts” and “Hot Topics” reports: Now include content from private communities, enhancing the depth of insights available.

If users are NOT members, or do NOT have the Private Content Mode enabled, the message "Content only available to members" will appear. Therefore, users may start to see "Content only visible for members" in reports that show previews of discussion threads.
